Newmarket
The Newmarket Flyer
Newmarket is a market town in Suffolk and is generally considered the birthplace and global centre of horse racing.
It is the largest racehorse training centre in Britain, the largest racehorse breeding centre in the country, home to most major British horseracing institutions, and a key global centre for horse health. The town has had close royal connections since the time of James I, who built a palace there, and was also a base for Charles I, Charles, and most monarchs since. Queen Elizabeth II often visited the town often to see her horses in training.
It’s not all about horseracing as the town boasts a wide selection of eateries as well as independent and chain stores. With its station on the Ipswich – Ely line and sitting just off the main A14 arterial road it is situated within easy reach of other major towns like Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.
The Newmarket Flyer is a great, free, local, door-delivered magazine that gives excellent readership levels, offering great local content that showcases the best the town has to offer. It is supported by Love Newmarket, the town’s Business Improvement District (BID) – the local council, businesses and groups in the region.
