The Stowmarket Flyer October 2023
In this month’s Stowmarket Flyer October edition we hear about upcoming events in Stowmarket in October.

Because of the summer holidays, it’s been a relatively quiet period here in the centre of the Universe aka Stowmarket, but my Consort and I have still managed to attend a number of events.
We really appreciated being invited to the Family Fun Day at the Stowmarket Community and Sports and Social Club CIC which showed the wide range of events other than football that goes on at Greens Meadow. I would encourage you to visit just to see some of the ambitious plans they have for the future of the club.
We also enjoyed the Stowmarket Town Twinning Association’s Annual BBQ. The Association works hard to forge links with our twin town of Verneuil and arranges several events throughout the year.
Unfortunately, we were unable to take part in the East Anglian Traditional Music Day which consisted of an impressive range of music, song, dance, and storytelling at several venues across the town. By all accounts, it was a wonderful event and we look forward to attending next year.
Please feel free to come to my Civic Service at 2.00 pm on 1st October at the Parish Church of St Peter’s and St Mary.

‘Go Green Go Wild’
In October half term Stowmarket Town Council will be holding an environmental themed, family friendly event called ‘Go Green Go Wild’, to inspire and educate young people about the value of wildlife and the importance of protecting the environment. This exciting new event will be FREE to attend, held on our Milton House grounds and at Stowmarket Scout Centre between 10.30am-2.30pm on Tuesday 24th October 2023.
The day will be jam packed with lots of fun interactive stalls and activities for all the family. Organisations such as Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Get Suffolk Reading, Mid Suffolk District Council Food Savvy, and many more will be attending!
There will be plenty of fun for all the family! The day will include animals, crafts, face painting, story tellers, bug hunts, a giant bug hotel and much more!
Stowmarket Town Council will also be giving away 100 wildlife habitats on the day as part of our Bio 100 Day.
