Launched in September 2018, The Stowmarket Flyer is rapidly becoming the leading monthly community free magazine in Stowmarket.
With regular contributions from the Mayor, the Vicar, the Town Council and various local charities, schools and businesses, the focus is very much on community life in Stowmarket and the surrounding villages.
Our MP Jo Churchill is also a regular contributor. Our popular “Then and Now” series provides fascinating insights into the history behind well-known buildings in the town. Our great content and coverage make The Stowmarket Flyer the leading free monthly magazine in Stowmarket.
Stowmarket is an attractive, compact market town in Mid-Suffolk, with good road and rail connections to London, Cambridge, Norwich, the Suffolk Coast and further afield.
The spire of the 14th century church of St Peter & St Mary dominates the town centre, and the nearby marketplace hosts a vibrant and varied market on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Between 2010 and 2013, the historic Corn Exchange building was brought back to life to form the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts which regularly hosts a wide range of musical, theatrical, comedy and other arts events.
Nestled in the centre of the town is the Museum of East Anglian Life, incorporating the imposing Abbott’s Hall building, which specialises in presenting the agricultural history of East Anglia through a mixture of exhibits and living history demonstrations. Stowmarket Innovation Labs, opened in 2019, aims to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, business growth and the development of an Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence.
The Stowmarket Flyer is delivered to homes in the main estates around Stowmarket, the town centre and Stowupland. Additional copies are available for collection from the Community Centre in Hillside, the Regal Cinema (closed for refurbishment during 2020) the library, community centre and internet café in Needham Market, and Post Offices in Haughley and Old Newton. Copies can also be collected from Stonham Barns Leisure Park, Woodfarm Courtyard and Finbows Yard. We very much hope you enjoy reading our Stowmarket Flyer, the leading free monthly magazine for Stowmarket.
