Easter Fun at the Food Museum

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful 84-acre Food Museum site during the Easter Holidays as the museum springs into life! Celebrate Easter with fun activities for all the family, including meeting the new lambs, family baking activities in the bread oven, a Spring Feast and Easter egg trail.
Each day there will be the chance to meet, hold and feed the orphan lambs and learn about the sheep flock with the Museum team at 11.30 am and 3 pm. These sessions are free with museum admission/membership.
Get hands-on this Easter with family-friendly baking workshops at our wood-fired bread oven! Join us to make easter nests in the morning and simnel cupcakes in the afternoon. Sunday sessions are designed specifically for SEND participants. Ages 5+. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential.
Make sure to pick up your Easter trail from the shop at the start of your visit. Follow the trail around the museum site and see what fun things you can discover.
On Sunday 6 April the museum will also be hosting an elegant Spring Feast. Blending the best seasonal produce sourced from the Museum site and local area with Middle Eastern inspired flavours, our menu celebrates the joy springtime food and the cultural history of Easter.
In addition to all of our Easter activities, visitors can also see the museum’s new exhibition School Dinners. From the meals themselves to the people behind them, have you ever thought about why school dinners are the way they are? And the reasons why they divide the nation?
The exhibition will feature tasters that may provoke delight or disgust, depending on your memories of school food.
“With a packed programme of Easter activities as well as the launch of our new exhibition it’s the perfect time to come and visit the museum. Families always love to meet the orphan lambs and our popular baking sessions are an ideal family activity” explains Visitor Services and Marketing Manager Chloe Brett. “We hope to see lots of visitors over the two weeks, to both the museum and our onsite café Feast which will be serving up some springtime specials!”
