In this month’s Stowmarket Flyer June edition we hear about upcoming events in Stowmarket in June. The John Peel Centre is proud to again be taking part in Stowmarket’s Jubilant! Festival. Jubilant! is an Arts and Culture Mini Youth festival, now in its second year, taking place between Wednesday 11th and Wednesday 17th of June.

As many of the UK’s touring acts begin to hit the festival circuit the John Peel Centre is focusing attention closer to home and continuing to support new talent and local creative projects.
The John Peel Centre is proud to again be taking part in Stowmarket’s Jubilant! Festival. Jubilant! is an Arts and Culture Mini Youth festival, now in its second year, taking place between Wednesday 11th and Wednesday 17th of June. On Friday, 9th of June at 10:00 am the John Peel Centre will be hosting a ‘Promenade Flashmob’ with students from Cedars Park in the Market Place. For more information about Jubilant! On Thursday 22nd of June The music department from Suffolk One college presents a music showcase of their finest music students and performers. Featuring a diverse line-up of young bands and solo artists getting together for their big final jam of the year! Tickets are just £4.50 and can be booked via www.ticketsource.co.uk/suffolkone
If you love your Reggae, Ska and Rocksteady then be sure to come along to see Pat O’Reilly and The Goldmaster Allstars who will bring their vibrant and dynamic show to the JPC on Friday 24th of June. Established in 1995, The Goldmaster Allstars were the winners of the BRIA Best British Reggae Band in 2013 and have been a growing force on the UK and World music scene. They are now fronted by Pat O’Reilly, formerly of The Moochers. Tickets are £15 and can be booked online via www.johnpeelcentre.com or via the Box Office on 01449 776678
Finally, the John Peel Centre has begun to open up the former Nat West Bank at 11 Market Place, having recently completed the initial work to install a new bar and café area. The new bar will initially be opening on Thursday afternoons, to coincide with the foodie market in Stowmarket!
