Stowmarket Town Council

Being a Councillor is a really interesting role. You will find out so much about your hometown and the opportunities and choices that it faces. Stowmarket Town Council is entirely separate from County and District Councils in the area. It is here to serve Stowmarket and is rated as one of the top 1% of local councils in the whole country. All Councillors serve as volunteers and provide their services to the local community without receiving payment. However, it is a really satisfying role and we offer a friendly team environment where all Councillors and staff are committed to doing their best for the town.
