From The Mayor
In the short space I’ve been Mayor so much has happened. It’s only when you become Mayor that you fully appreciate the fantastic range of events that happen across the town. There are just so many community groups, volunteers, charities etc all with the aim of improving life for the residents of our town. It really is quite humbling to be a small part of promoting some of these.
One of the most important duties of a Mayor is supporting the civic events that happen both within the town, and the county as a whole. It’s been an honour to represent the town at several events. My wife and I have attended several Civic Services, I was proud to represent Stowmarket at the Suffolk Day celebrations in Ipswich, the Armed Forces Day event in Stowmarket. My Civic Service will be held at the Stowmarket Parish Church of St Peter and St Mary’s on the 1st October 2023 at 2.00pm. You’ll be made very welcome.
A highlight for us was the Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival which was a tremendous success, and my thanks go to all the staff at the Town Council for making the event so successful. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying everything on offer at all the different venues across the town.
