All Saints Kesgrave:  Celebrating the Coronation

Centuries ago the prophet and priest, Samuel, anointed David the Shepherd boy to be king after Saul: (see 1 Samuel 16)

On May 6th 2023 this tradition of holy anointing will continue, as the Chrism oil, made and consecrated in Jerusalem, will be used in the ceremony to crown Charles 111

as our new King; there is also a very personal family link as Charles’ grandmother is buried in St Mary’s Church on the Mount of Olives.

Along with hundreds of other churches we will be celebrating on May 7th, with a service of Holy Communion at 08.30am and an All Age ‘Coronation’ service at 10.00am.

This will be followed by Coffee, Cake and a Raffle from 11.00am-1pm to raise money for Martlesham Church Top-Up Shop and the charity Home-Start

There will also be an exhibition of childrens’ drawings on the theme ‘Kings, Lions and Unicorns’

If you would like to donate a raffle prize or a cake please phone Carolyn LeMay on 07816 458893

To round the day off there is a peaceful traditional Evensong Service at 6.30pm

Thank you: everyone is welcome!
