Woodbridge Rotary Club

As Summer begins to wane, Woodbridge Rotary Club (WRC) set sights on two important events in October. The first is Opera for Woodbridge on Saturday, 19th October, presented and directed by Lady Caroline Blois and Nick Fowler; here we help through sponsorship, as well as preparing and clearing away the audience seating, in addition we also provide stewards for the performance. This year the production is Mozart’s Magic Flute and, on past experience of Opera for Woodbridge, a real treat is in store so don’t miss it, it’s free but seats must be booked in advance via e mail to <info@operaforwoodbridge.uk>, the audience are encouraged to show their appreciation by way of a retiring collection, which helps to defray the costs etc.
The biggest event of WRC’s year follows a little later in October being the Ruff Stuff forest cycle challenge which this year will be on Sunday 27th October. This is very well supported and caters for all ages, although please note those under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, parent or guardian. It takes place in Rendlesham Forest where we organise three circular routes from Butley Village Hall, they are 10, 25 or 30 mile courses and so offer an opportunity for a wide range of cyclists with mixed abilities and experience. It proved to be a great deal of fun and, if you enjoy cycling, not to be missed, come along and enjoy yourselves!
Butley village hall opens at 08:00 with the ladies of the Inner Wheel providing light refreshments, a great way to start before the event gets under way; the first riders set off at 9:30 and thereafter at five minute intervals. More information as well as registration details can be found on our website <www.woodbridgerotary.com>.
Woodbridge Rotary Club members can usually be found at lunch time on a Friday in The Bull Hotel, Market Hill, Woodbridge, a convivial group sharing a drink and lunch often with the added attraction of a visiting speaker. Why not come along, especially if you’re thinking of finding out more about Rotary and what is its contribution to the local Community, now is definitely a good time as extra hands/support are always welcome at the above events which give a great insight in to what WRC are all about!
