Great British Dog Walk at Ickworth Park, Suffolk
There will be waggy tails and wet noses in abundance at Ickworth Park, Suffolk, on Sunday, 12 May, when hundreds of dog walkers gather to raise money for national charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
The walk, which is supported by Specsavers Audiologists, is one of 13 similar events to be held in picturesque locations across the UK as part of one of the charity’s most important annual fundraisers, the Great British Dog Walk.
By taking part in either the 3km or 8km sponsored dog walk, people will be helping to train more incredible hearing dogs to alert partners to life-saving and important sounds and help them reconnect with life.
The event will also feature fun additional activities, including have-a-go dog agility and other fun games to enjoy before and after the walk. Information will also be available about how the charity’s services team Hearing Link Services can help people with their hearing loss.
Those taking part will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful parkland of Ickworth House, a Georgian Italianate Palace in the heart of Suffolk, the magnificent centrepiece of more than 1800 acres of stunning gardens and parkland.
The Great British Dog Walk is run by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf children and adults to important and life-saving sounds.
Tickets are £12 in advance for adults and are available online at The Great British Dog Walk or £15 on the day. Children under 16 go free. A free dog bandana is included with every adult ticket.
