Martlesham Council

Annual Parish Meeting

Thank you to all our residents who attended this year’s Annual Parish Meeting at the end of March. Grant cheques from the Parish Council were presented to Martlesham Conservation Group, Headway Suffolk, the Greenways Project, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Martlesham Bowls Club and Martlesham Heath Aviation Society. Those present at the meeting heard informative reports from some of these organisations as well as the Council. After the meeting, there was an opportunity to enjoy refreshments and a chance to talk to councillors and council volunteers. The Clerk Lisa Burgess provided an inspiring display of the Council’s work which was appreciated by all attendees. Congratulations to all those who helped to make the evening such a great success.

Martlesham Council approves a new policy and an Emergency Plan

At its April meeting the Parish Council approved a Parish Biodiversity Policy aimed at working towards conserving and enhancing the biodiversity of the Council’s area and guiding our future biodiversity action planning.
The Council also approved a Community Emergency Plan aimed at enhancing the resilience of Martlesham Parish in the event of an emergency and reducing the impact of any incident on our community.
Both documents will be posted on to our website where there is a wealth of information for residents to view relating to Council activities.

Proposed Neighbourhood Watch Scheme

Martlesham Council would like to hear from any residents who might be interested in joining a Neighbourhood Watch scheme and Police Connect. Further details can be obtained from the Council.

Diamond Jubilee Bike Trail Update

Following damage to this facility, reinstatement works have now been completed, and the bike trails are open for use. Reinstatement has cost a considerable amount of money. The Council would be grateful if all users would please respect the design and refrain from altering it any way so that it remains safe for all to use.
