Martlesham Council

Biodiversity Policy

Under the 2021 Environment Act, public authorities, including town and parish councils, must consider what they can do to conserve and enhance biodiversity. *

Accordingly, Martlesham Council intends to adopt a new Biodiversity Policy. The aim of the policy is to work towards conserving and enhancing the biodiversity of the Council’s area and to guide our future biodiversity action planning. As part of this, the Council is keen to work in partnership with other organisations and the Martlesham community.

We are very keen to hear your views. Please visit our website to read the policy in full and to find out how to contact us with your feedback.

If you have any interest or expertise in biodiversity, conservation or sustainability, and would like to become a Council volunteer, please contact the Council to find out more about our current and future projects.

*Biodiversity is the variety of all living things and their interactions (Extract from ‘What is Biodiversity? National Museum of Natural History)

Jubilee Bike Trails

Unfortunately, following considerable damage to this facility, the Council has had to make the decision to close the bike trail until such time as resources allow us to repair the damage. Please note that the facility is currently not safe and has been fenced off, so please don’t be tempted to move the barriers or to use it.

Council Surgeries

Over the next two months, surgeries will be held by kind permission of the Runway Café Committee on the following dates:

Friday 14th March 10-12

Friday 18th April 10-12

Forthcoming Meetings

*Please note, residents are warmly welcomed this month, to our Annual Parish Meeting which takes place on 26th March at 19:30.

All Council meetings are open to the public, who are welcome to ask questions or make comments to the Council during a public forum.
