Martlesham Council

We would like to wish all Martlesham residents a very merry Christmas and festive season!

Project update

Martlesham Council is pleased to report that councillors agreed, for the benefit of the parish, to fund work on clearing leaves, debris and overgrown branches from both the Blacktiles and Tescos underpasses. We hope to see clearance work completed soon. This type of maintenance work would normally be undertaken by Suffolk County Council.

Martlesham Council has agreed that a new bench should be placed at the Jubilee Play Space for all residents to enjoy while visiting the play equipment and bike trails.

We are also pleased to inform residents that a replacement spinning bowl will be in position soon at the Harry Higgins Play Area on Martlesham Heath.

Council Surgeries

As previously advised, Martlesham Council is trialling a new initiative by holding surgeries which residents can attend to bring matters to the attention of councillors.

The next two surgeries will be held in the Runway Café by kind permission of the Runway Café Committee, on Friday 13th December 2024 and Friday 17th January 2025, from 10-12.

Please do drop in to chat to us if you would like to.

Please bear with us if we are not as quick as usual to respond to enquiries. We are currently without a Parish Clerk following the retirement of Diane Linsley in the summer.

Councillors and staff are working very hard on behalf of all residents to cover her duties as well as their own work until such time as a new Clerk can be appointed.
