East Ipswich Camera Club – Who are we?
We are a small, friendly camera club that meets twice a month (first and third Tuesdays) at 7:30pm at The Tower Hall on Broadlands Way in Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich.
Our programme includes a mixture of inspiring talks by professional photographers, club and inter-club photography competitions and we have show-and-tell sessions where techniques, software and photography kit are discussed, and the occasional hands-on evening. A ‘taster session’ for a guest is just £3. We have ample free parking available adjacent to the hall. We have refreshments for sale at every meeting. Note: At the moment, we can only accept cash payments.
Maybe you are aspiring to be a professional photographer or are just a keen hobbyist or even a complete novice, perhaps you use a bridge camera, a DSLR, a mirrorless camera or just a phone camera; whatever your level or kit, you are very welcome to join us. Would photography help you in your career or with your social media posts? Why not come along and find out what we are all about? We’d love to see you!
Upcoming Events: Tuesday 16 December 2025 – Sue Clark: Is Photography Art? (ZOOM)
We are delighted that Sue Clark will be talking to us via ZOOM in December.
Sue’s talk will look at the way that photography and art have always been interlinked and will ask what the impact of each on the other has been. We’ll explore the challenges that photography has faced in being accepted as an art form. Not to be missed!
Tuesday 06 January 2026 – Justin Minns: Photographing Essex
Justin Minns is an award-winning landscape photographer living in Suffolk. He is a published author (you may have seen his wonderful photo walk books covering the East Anglian region) and gives frequent talks to camera clubs. This will be his new talk for the 2025-26 season.
Justin’s style is very atmospheric, and his workshops are extremely popular with photographers wanting to learn more about his seemingly effortless style. He is the proud holder of a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS), awarded for a panel of Essex coastal images.
We are thrilled to be welcoming him to Tower Hall in January.
Tickets will be available from our Secretary in due course for both events at £5 for guests (free to fully paid-up members of the club).
Information & Contact: We’re on Facebook (EastIpswichCC) and have a dedicated website (eastipswichcameraclub.co.uk).
