The Ipswich Flyer Magazine November ’24 Updates

Kevin Beattie Foundation

My name is Malcolm, and I am proud to be the founder of the Kevin Beattie Foundation, named in honour of Kevin Beattie, widely regarded as Ipswich Town’s greatest-ever player.
Four years ago, I embarked on a memorable journey, walking from Carlisle (Kevin’s birthplace) to Ipswich to raise the funds necessary to establish his foundation.
We are honoured to have been given a monthly slot in this magazine and we hope you enjoy reading what we have to say.
Our mission is to keep Kevin’s legacy and name alive by supporting various charitable causes. This season, our focus is in raising funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation in support of former player, Marcus Stewart, who has tragically been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. We are committed to making a positive impact in the community, just as Kevin did on and off the pitch.
In addition to fundraising, we produce a quarterly newsletter called NewsBEAT, which is available for just £3, incs postage & packaging. The newsletter covers all aspects of football, not just ITFC, offering something for every football enthusiast.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting events planned. At the end of the season, we’ll be embarking on a week-long pub crawl to Everton FC, with more details to be shared in the next edition. Additionally, we are hosting a special Christmas Raffle & Auction on December 8th at the Red Lion, Ipswich.

Together, we can honour Kevin Beattie’s legacy while making a difference for important causes like the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. See you next month!
