The Postcard Traders Association (PTA) is the organisation that represents and promotes the hobby of postcard collecting which has been popular in the UK since Edwardian times. Millions of postcards were sent daily as the main form of communication before the widespread use of telephones.

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the Postcard Traders Association and they decided to mark the occasion by inviting members from postcard clubs from across the UK to submit designs that could be used on a commemorative postcard. This would be printed and given to everyone attending their major fairs throughout 2025

Our secretary, Maureen Barker, entered this national competition with a design entitled “Golden Oldies”, which included characters from old postcards on a background of old postcard backs. Maureen was delighted when she received a call from the PTA to say that her design had won.
