Textile Connections Exhibition
Tuesday 2nd July 2024 to Sunday 7th July 10am to 4pm Daily Free Admission
Textile Connections is a new group of textile artists with members from Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. The group was formed by students who completed the Creative Stitch Advanced Stitched Textiles course with tutor Mary McIntosh.
The theme of ‘Textile Connections’ was chosen as the title for the exhibition with each member interpreting it in their own unique style. There will be a range of stitched and quilted wall hangings and innovative 3D work.
World War Two Operations Room Open Day
Sunday 28th July 10am to 4pm Free Admission
The Guildhall contains the only surviving WW2 Operations Room of the Royal Observer Corps – an unsung group of local heroes who were the ‘eyes and ears of the RAF’ during the Battle of Britain.
Their story has been hidden behind a veil of secrecy for over 80 years, but now it’s all been declassified for you to explore.
Discover the stories of the remarkable people who worked in the Ops Room and the incredible events they were part of at special open days throughout the year.
