Message from the Rotary Club of Felixstowe

Welcome to the 45th Rotary Fun Run in Felixstowe – It’s a fantastic Community event for our Club to be involved in and, it’s a great spectacle for the Town.

The preparation for this starts in October. There is a 10 man strong committee within our club, who all work very hard to get the event ready. From licenses, advertisers, sponsors, volunteers, equipment, paperwork, first aid, barriers and cones etc. the list goes on. On the day, most of our Club members, friends and partners help with various jobs. It really is a team effort, and I thank every one of our Rotarians and our many Volunteers.

And, I must also thank all our sponsors who are always so generous and supportive for this event.

Also, our Main Beneficiary this year is a great local organisation, ‘Brave Futures’ who do tremendous and important work in our area.

Then, my thanks also to the runners who come out in their hundreds for this fun event.

A big shout out to our local sports clubs, including Felixstowe & Walton United, Trimley Red Devils, Felixstowe Hockey Club, and Felixstowe Rugby Club who always attend in numbers which helps make it such a great day.

It just wouldn’t happen without you all.

I hope you all enjoy every minute; I get tired just watching some of the youngsters!

Let’s hope for a big turnout, cheer them all on and the Sun to Shine.

MESSAGE FROM MAIN BENEFICIARY

For this year’s Annual Charity Fun Run, the Rotary Club of Felixstowe has Brave Futures as the Main Beneficiary of funds raised by the Event.
Brave Futures is a specialist charity supporting children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse. Sadly, 1 in 10 children will need support like ours during their lifetime.
We are proud to be here in Felixstowe, ensuring local children can access lifesaving, trauma-informed support close to home, while also delivering services across Suffolk and Norfolk.
No child should be left alone to untangle feelings of fear, shame, confusion or hurt.
Every child deserves to feel safe, heard and believed and to be supported to rebuild their confidence and reclaim their childhood.
By taking part in the Fun Run, you are helping us be there for children in Felixstowe who need us today, and for those who may need us tomorrow.
