Has someone in your life died and you’re finding it hard to talk to friends and family? Perhaps finding the words to express your grief is difficult or maybe you’re finding it frustrating that those around you expect you to return to the person you were before your bereavement.
Whether you’ve experienced a bereavement recently or a long time ago, you’ll be offered the time and space to be able to fully grieve your loss. You may be noticing physical symptoms and/or feeling many emotions including shock, sadness, anger, guilt, loneliness, relief……… Please believe me when I say everything you feel is ok.
As well as being an experienced counsellor, I’ve encountered deep loss myself – a parent, a sibling and beloved pets and so I bring to my practice a combination of personal and professional experience or maybe I would say I bring head and heart to support you during your grief journey.
There’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ way through grief; it’s unique to each person. My wish is to offer you a place where you can come and feel supported whilst sharing your thoughts and feelings about your bereavement. It’s my view that having someone genuinely warm, compassionate, supportive and interested in you can be really helpful in allowing yourself permission to get more deeply in touch with how you feel and to share how your loss is impacting you. This is especially important in a culture which doesn’t really make space for grief, which is a whole body, mind and soul experience. Grieving can be a lonely process if finding places to express your grief is difficult. As Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Please know you don’t have to journey through your grief alone. Having a regular time to come and talk can feel very grounding and supportive.
If you’d like to come and see me, you can contact me by email or phone. I’m here and waiting to offer you a listening ear, a compassionate heart and a genuine interest in you.
