Aldeburgh Carnival with Group A – Sat 13 to Mon 15 August
Take part in Aldeburgh Carnival with Group A, a free vocal initiative for young people aged 8 – 18 living in and around Ipswich, Lowestoft, Leiston and Saxmunhdam. It is free to join, and you don’t need any prior musical experience to take part. Across three days you will be working with brass band ‘Perhaps Contraption’, to create a carnival parade performance, which will take place on Monday 15th August on Aldeburgh High Street at 2.30pm.

RSPB Minsmere – Summer Wildlife Walk at Snape Maltings – Tue 16, 23 and 30 August
From £4, join the RSPB volunteers on a fun family stroll along reedbed and hedgerow in search of Snape’s birds, butterflies, dragonflies, beetles and bugs for an introduction to the wilder side of Snape. Departing from the Old Custom’s House at Ipswich Dock, passing through the lock gates and sailing down the beautiful and historic River Orwell and under the Orwell Bridge. 1pm-5pm.

Folkeast 2022 – Fri 19 to Sun 21 August
FolkEast is all about coming together for three days to fill your boots with music, food, ale, art, family and friends in the glorious parkland of Glemham Hall. The Islands of Secrets Walk – Sun 21 August
A 1.5hour guided walk into the heart of the AWRE (Atomic Weapons Research Establishment) area, including the iconic ‘Pagodas’. Learn about the history of these fascinating buildings which were created in the 1950s for testing the components of nuclear weapons. Tickets £5, children under 5 go free.
