Portrait Artist Jonathan Farningham to give Demonstration
Dunmow Art Group is excited to host a demonstration of portrait drawing by artist Jonathan Farningham in March.
Jonathan will be demonstrating drawing a portrait at the Talberd Room, Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow, on Wednesday 18th March from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Jonathan Farningham is an artist specialising in figure and portrait commissions based in South London. He graduated with a First Class Honours in Fine Art and subsequently was awarded a full scholarship to study Portraiture Painting at Heatherley’s School of Fine art. He is a regular exhibitor in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the New English Art Club and the Scottish Portrait Awards.
Jonathan’s work explores relationships between colour, tone and feeling. He aims to capture both the external and internal of his portrait sitters in order to make an image that reflects the many levels of human experience. Jonathan always looks beyond visual preconceptions and confronts the subject as if seeing for the first time. His goal is to paint what light reveals.
The painting demonstration costs £1 for members of Dunmow Art Group and £10 for non-members.
Dunmow Art Group has a long history of supporting artists and art lovers in Dunmow and the surrounding area and has a regular programme of weekly art meetings and monthly visiting artists.
