Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society Monthly Meeting

Monthly Meeting, Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society.
Ipswich Group member John Barbrook has long been fascinated with the Stoke area of Ipswich, being born in the area.
He has now put together a talk entitled Lets Go Over Stoke.
Stoke is basically the area of the Town Stoke, or Over Stoke as it is also known, an area of Ipswich to the South of Stoke Bridge, which encompasses New Cut West, Bell Lane and Great Whip Street along with the historic docks. Gallery: Over Stoke, it is mentioned in the Domesday book, therefore probably the oldest part of Ipswich.
John will show how much the Stoke area has changed – particularly since he was born and lived in the area.
