Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society Monthly Meeting
Monthly Meeting, Ipswich Group, Suffolk Family History Society
Wednesday 3rd January 2024 at 7:30 p.m.
Kim Smith, Dedham Vale Tour Guide, presents:
Constable the Painter who could not get arrested.
The talk provides an insight into the life and times of Suffolk Artist John Constable, with a surprising link to a modern celebrity.
Despite his status as arguably Britain’s greatest landscape artists, he sold few paintings in his lifetimes and was dogged by professional and private bad luck in his life. Constable was very stoic, refusing to give in.
