HANSARD, presented by The Barn Theatre Club (Welwyn Garden City) is obliquely timely, waspishly funny, and ultimately very moving.

The setting is 1988, in the Oxfordshire country home of junior Tory minister, Robin Hesketh and Diana, his wife of thirty years. Section 28, the legislation forbidding the teaching or promotion of homosexuality in schools, has just been introduced.

Returning from an overnight trip to Leeds, where he appeared on Any Questions Hesketh’s hoping for a warm welcome on his birthday. He finds Diana still in her dressing gown and 90 minutes of verbal battle is joined.
