Demonstration by Wildlife Artist Becky Gouverneur
Dunmow Art Group is excited to host a demonstration by wildlife artist Becky Gouverneur in May.
Becky will be giving a talk and demonstration via zoom at the Talberd Room, Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow, on Wednesday 20th May from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Becky Gouverneur is a professional animal artist specialising in charcoal, graphite and pastel portraiture, with over ten years of experience. Her work is known for its strong sense of realism and striking use of tone and has been exhibited several times at the Mall Galleries in London including being shortlisted for Wildlife Artist of the Year award.
Alongside commissions and exhibitions, Becky runs workshops, demos and also produces teaching content through the SAA, sharing the techniques behind her process. Her approach is shaped by a photographic background, using digital methods to develop composition before bringing the image to life in charcoal. She is currently in the final stages of writing a book on charcoal drawing, to be published by Search Press and due for release in January next year. In this two-hour live demonstration, Becky will demonstrate the process of drawing with charcoal, talking through her techniques and decision making along the way, offering an insight into how these detailed and expressive works come together.
