An Evening with Acclaimed Poet Imtiaz Dharker
Ware Poets is delighted to welcome one of the UK’s leading poets, Imtiaz Dharker, as our guest reader at this special poetry event.
Imtiaz was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, and her poems feature on the GCSE and A Level English syllabus, BBC radio, television, the London Underground, Glasgow billboards and Mumbai buses.
She is also an accomplished artist, her seven collections of poetry illustrated with her drawings.
The evening offers the chance to hear a top poet locally.
It is also an opportunity for students of GCSE and A level English to hear a poet whose work is on the curriculum. (Entry is free for under 19’s but please book in advance).
The evening will start with an open mic session with readings by audience members, followed by Imtiaz’s performance. There will be a bar courtesy of Southern Maltings.
Tickets are available through the Southern Maltings website – free for under 19’s, otherwise £6. Limited places so please book in advance. https://southernmaltings.co.uk/events/an-evening-with-imtiaz-dharker/
