Looking for some fun events to attend in May? Look no further than the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts! Starting on Saturday, May 6th, the popular JPC Record Fair will be taking place, featuring independent record sellers offering new and used vinyl, collectables, and rare 7”s. There will also be DJs throughout the day, including a special slot from 12-1 where the records played will be selected from John Peel’s record archive (with kind permission from Sheila Ravenscroft).
On Friday, May 12th, don’t miss out on the next ‘Emerge’ night showcasing local up and coming talent, featuring new music from Fuze, Will Foley, Bamboo Powders, and Panic Stations. Budding wordsmiths won’t want to miss the Suffolk Poetry Societies 9th Festival of Suffolk Poetry on Saturday, May 13th, featuring workshops and performances from the finest Suffolk-based poets.
Sunday, May 14th brings the hottest Jazz to the JPC, as the Paul Higgs Quartet presents ‘A Brief History of Jazz’ from 3:00pm. On Wednesday, May 17th, the popular disco dance event for women, ‘Let’s Bop!’ returns with another 90 minutes of dancefloor filling tracks for fun fitness and friendship.
Finally, on Friday, May 19th, The Allergies bring their good time funk and hip-hop show to Stowmarket, with support from ace hip-hop MC and DJ ‘Chrome’. This is set to be a great and groovy night!

Applications for the Stowmarket Christmas Fayre are now open!
We invite all local and regional businesses to apply to be part of the fantastic day. This year the Christmas Fayre will be held on Sunday 26th November in Stowmarket Town Centre and promises a great day out of families.
Unfortunately due to the high demand in applications, not everyone will be successful and be offered a pitch at the Fayre. Applicants will be made aware of the outcome of their application within 8 weeks of submission.
