Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival
The Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival is celebrating its 20th year.
As part of our 20th Year of having Christmas Trees decorated in Stowmarket. Several venues are involved Maxwell Brown Independent Property Agents, Red Gables, Stowmarket Library, Stowmarket Parish Church, The Food Museum, The Old Fox Yard, The John Peel Centre and The Regal taking part. Each venue has their own theme, and we work together as a group to bring as much joy to the town as possible. Further details of the venues themes and our openings will be on each website closer to time. We look forward to seeing you.
Stowmarket Parish Church will be decorating trees to the theme ‘Hope, Peace and Love’. This year’s theme is a poignant theme with all that is happening in the world. We are also going to have a section in the church with an eco /sustainability focus if you want to have a go at that. Hope, Peace and Love can be shared in so many ways, so get your thinking caps on.
The festival will be from the 23rd November 2024 to the 24th of December. Our Opening night will be Friday 22nd November at 6pm, with Charlie Haylock switching the lights on for us this year in the church. Those who have come to the opening evenings before now that we have a big countdown in the dark, before the trees all come on together. It is great fun!
In addition, the church will be having a couple of evenings, where it will be open from 5.30 -7.30pm. December 10th and 17th will be ‘SENSORY QUIET’ evenings, where the church will be open to those who have sensory needs and prefer a quiet space to look around. Then on December 12th and 19th we will have the church open for anyone to come and see the trees lit up at night.
