The Kesgrave Flyer September 2020

Following the successful outcome of an independent examination, East Suffolk Council has now confirmed its agreement for the Kesgrave Neighbourhood Plan to proceed to a Neighbourhood Planning Referendum subject to modifications set out by the Examiner. A Decision Statement to this effect has been published by East Suffolk Council on its website using this address  https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/assets/Planning/Neighbourhood-Planning/Designated-Neighbourhood-Areas/Kesgrave/Kesgrave-Neighbourhood-Plan-Decision-Statement-27.07.2020.pdf

The Kesgrave Neighbourhood Plan (Referendum Version) can be viewed on the East Suffolk Council website here https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/assets/Planning/Neighbourhood-Planning/Designated-Neighbourhood-Areas/Kesgrave/KNP-Referendum-Version-23.7.2020-Final.pdf or in person at the Town Council office (subject to social distancing guidelines).

Under the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, the referendum will not be able to take place until at least 6th May 2021.

Subject to the agreement at next year’s referendum of all Kesgrave residents (that is a simple majority of those who vote), the policies and proposals contained in the plan will be used by East Suffolk Council in the determination of planning applications within the Town of Kesgrave. More information will be provided once we are advised a date for the referendum. Meanwhile, in accordance with an interim amendment to national planning guidance our plan will be afforded significant weight by East Suffolk Council when considering planning applications in the interim.
