As you may already be aware, Suffolk Libraries started to reopen from Monday 6th July. It’s not yet certain when all services will be back to normal but it is hoped that the reservation service will resume in August. At the time of this email the information below is accurate so I would therefore appreciate it if you could include it in anything produced for August.
You can return titles and pick up existing, pre-lockdown reservations at your library. Some libraries will require booking (see your local library’s website for details).
You can return titles as normal but there will be no browsing in libraries.
Online reservations will not be available immediately. Customers will be able to call or contact us online to request a selection of titles based on genre or author, which we’ll make available for collection.
- No cash payments in libraries, card payments only. You can now pay outstanding charges and fines online.
All in-library events remain suspended and there is no printing, PC usage or room hire.
The mobile library has restared but the home library service will remain suspended.
- There will be no charges for CD and DVD loans.
- All overdue charges on loans made after 1 February remain suspended until 31 August. We will continue to review this date.
- All existing loan dates remain frozen until 31 August. We will continue to review this date.
You can still download and stream free eBooks, eAudio, magazines, newspapers, films, documentaries and music. We’re also running events online to enjoy from home at https://www.suffolklibraries.co.uk/whats-on and via Suffolk Libraries YouTube channel.
Full customer service available Mon-Fri 9-5pm, closed bank holidays. Leave a message out of these hours.
