Ready Reads from Herts libraries

Ready Reads is a new way to borrow books from Hertfordshire libraries. Simply let us know what you like to read, which of our participating libraries you’d like to collect your order from, and we’ll choose a selection of books for you. You won’t be able to request specific authors or titles, but we’ll do our best to find books you’ll enjoy.

There are 6 books in each adult and teen Ready Reads pack and 12 books in each children’s Ready Reads pack.

You can order packs of books for yourself and other family members on this form. Once you’ve submitted it, we’ll select a pack based on your choices and contact you when it is ready for collection.

We’ll even issue the books to your card, so all you will have to do is collect your pack.

If you can’t use the online request form, you can ring us on 0300 123 4049.

Phased Herts Library Re-openings

Whilst we are offering the Ready Reads service, we will simultaneously prepare libraries for opening for limited public browsing, self-service and pre-booked access to a reduced number of public PCs. We will ensure appropriate social distancing measures are in place, which will include limiting the number of people allowed in the building at any time and encouraging customers to keep their visits short. This means that we will be unable to provide newspapers and periodicals or study areas. We will provide access to public computers via pre-booked sessions.

Details will be regularly updated on the Hertfordshire Libraries pages at: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/libraries-and-archives/libraries-and-archives.aspx
