Stowmarket Dec’19

A bright and sunny Saturday morning saw over 80 volunteers attend our Annual Community Litter Pick on Saturday, 19th October at the Recreation Ground. We were also supported by local businesses and community groups including Hughes, McDonalds, PPG, The Majorettes, Stowmarket 3rd Brownies, Trinity CEVA Primary School PTA & the John Peel Centre. The volunteers managed to collect an amazing 87kg of rubbish from the town as well as two shopping trolleys. Thank you to everybody that took part.
Our STEM Festival on Tuesday 22nd October was a great success. Aimed at 5-11 year olds, scientists from Mad Science East bought science to life for all those who attended the free event provided by the Town Council and held at Cedars Park Community Centre.

The STEM Festival included amazing interactive stage shows, which saw the children experiencing a world of solids, liquids and gases. It gave children aged 5-11 the chance to get very hands on, watch and be amazed by the wonderful world of science. They made epic explosions by mixing vinegar and bicarbonate soda and also made some gooey slime which they then took home to enjoy later!

As we wind down into Christmas, on behalf of all the staff and Councillors at Stowmarket Town Council we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
