St Clare Walking in Memory 5k

We’re delighted to invite you to our second annual St Clare Walking in Memory event on Sunday 20th September 2020, when we will gather to remember loved ones and celebrate their lives.

Walking in Memory is our flagship sponsored fundraising event, when we come together with other local people and families to take part in a 5k walk in honour of a loved one. It’s a special event for the whole family to take part in, and is a thoughtful way to honour those who we love and miss by coming together with others who understand.

Our team have been working hard to make sure this special event can still go ahead safely and we have done a thorough Covid-19 risk assessment and will be adhering to all current government guidance.

This year, in order to keep everyone safe, we will have three staggered start times of 10am, 11am and 12noon with a maximum 100 people per time slot. On the day, please only arrive 30 minutes before your agreed start time. Each timed group of people will be kept separate from the other groups, to minimise the number of people coming into contact.

Starting from St Clare Hospice, the walk will set off on a 5k route throughout the beautiful fields and footpaths of the local Hastingwood countryside (courtesy of Paris Hall Farm), and meeting back at the Hospice for a hot soup and a roll. On the day, you will receive a complimentary, hand-held windmill that can be personalised in memory of the person you are walking for. The windmills will be placed in the Hospice grounds as part of a temporary display, however, there will also be some available for you to buy and take home.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children, or £27.50 for a family of four.

There are three staggered start times, 10am, 11am and 12noon, each for a maximum of 100 people. When you register, you will be asked to choose your preferred time slot. If your time slot is full, we will contact you to arrange another time. Times are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so don’t delay – register today!

Please note:  Everyone is welcome to join us, but due to the nature of the course it is advised that the landscape is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
