Monthly Meeting Martlesham Heath Aviation Society
On Friday 2nd June at 7:30pm Paul Ross will present the story of Silver City Airlines.
This was an early post war Airline, which (rare for the time) was completely independent.
It operated across Europe from Britain using some iconic aircraft such as the Douglas DC3 and the Bristol Freighter, often from small airfields such a Lympne in Kent to Beauvais near Paris. This was an Airline in a completely different era of passenger travel – more leisurely, more personal, when you often got to meet the pilot. More of an adventure – but perhaps not as safe!
