Heritage Craft Day

On Thursday 24th August Saffron Walden Museum is giving visitors the chance to experience a range of historic crafts.

In the grounds of the museum and castle there will be specialists on hand to demonstrate and teach short tasters of traditional crafts including willow weaving, pargeting, spinning and loom weaving.

The Saffron Walden Community Shed will be bringing along their traditional style pole lathe to demonstrate.

The UDC Climate Change Team will have visitors making their own bird feeders from recycled materials. The museum’s staff will also be on hand with some pottery and flower pressing activities.

Refreshments will be available on site, including coffee truck Truckiato.

Event admission: £5 Adults, £2.50 concessions and children free. Museum Admission charges also apply: £2.50 adults, £1.25 concessions and children free.
