Essex Book Festival Author talk – Alex Preston Dunmow Library
Essex Book Festival, along with Essex Libraries, are hosting an event with writer Alex Preston on Tuesday 28th June at 7pm at Dunmow Library. The author will be talking about his new book Winchelsea which is a tale of revenge, piracy and transformation, ranging from the smugglers’ tunnels of the south coast to the battlefield of Culloden. Winchelsea is an electrifying story of vengeance and transformation. Join Alex Preston as he discusses his remarkable book. Partly inspired by the lives of soldier Hannah Snell and pirate Anne Bonny, it is both a page-turning, swashbuckling adventure story and meticulously researched look at gender and sexuality in the 18th century.
