Bishop’s Stortford Sinfonia concert – Spotlight on the Viola
Come join us for an afternoon of music highlighting the viola – a misunderstood and truly beautiful instrument. The programme will be showing off the viola in all its glory during William Walton’s Viola Concerto, one of the greatest concertos written for this often underestimated instrument. We are thrilled to welcome the BBC Young Musicians String Finalist Jaren Ziegler who will be performing the Walton with us.
Starting the afternoon concert we will be performing Dorothy Howell’s The Rock overture a wonderfully listenable piece that few have had an opportunity to enjoy. The afternoon will end with the beloved Enigma Variations, one of Edward Elgar’s most famous works.
