Bishop’s Stortford Means Business

Something for Everyone at BSMB 19

With a great diversity of Exhibitors at the next Bishop’s Stortford Means Business, there is something for everyone. The event takes place on 16 October at the Rhodes Centre and is free to attend. Exhibitors range an architect to a printer. If you are looking for a job, there are recruitment companies and Harlow College. If you are thinking about starting a business, there are plenty of people on hand to give valuable advice, and the free to attend seminars will give a lot of really useful information.

Located at the popular Rhodes Centre just to the south of the town centre, getting there is easy. You can walk or take the free Park n Ride. Simply park free of charge at Bishop’s Stortford Football Club and be chauffer driven in a luxurious BMW to the event courtesy of Barons BMW.

Local MP Mark Prisk always takes a great interest in the event. He said “I am delighted to support this year’s BSMB at Rhodes. It’s clear that stands are already selling well so I would encourage local firms thinking about attending to get on and book. Congratulations again to Bob and everyone else involved in continuing the success of BSMB, which is now in its 19th year!

An exciting new development this year is local radio station StortfordOne, who will be broadcasting live from the exhibition. David Bassett of StortfordOne said “We are very exciting to use this opportunity to make people in Bishop’s Stortford more aware that we are here and what we do. Please come along and meet us.”

BSMB has been held every year since 2001 and is intended to be an opportunity for local businesses and organisations to show people and companies in the area what they can do. Generous sponsorship from East Herts Council and Stansted Airport keep the cost for exhibitors very low.

A popular feature at BSMB is the programme of seminars. These free to attend sessions are designed to help all who are in business by teaching new skills or providing information. The first one to be announced is being given by local social media expert Tanya Filer. Her talk is entitled “Social Media strategy that turns conversations into clients”. All businesses need an active social media campaign; Tanya will explain how to do that. Tanya is an online marketing consultant and coach, and has been working with business owners in the area for the past 7 years. Her area of speciality is helping them develop, implement and analyse their social media strategy to increase their presence and bottom line.

This will be followed by a presentation from Hertfordshire Growth Hub giving advice on how to raise financial support.

There are still some stands available for anyone wishing to take part, full details of the event can be found at
