Manuden Scarecrow Trail

On behalf of the Scarecrow Trail Committee we’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported the 2019 Manuden Scarecrow Trail either by making a scarecrow, volunteering your time to help over the weekend, baking cakes, publicising and sharing the event via your social media and of course attending and completing the trail.  Your support truly mattered and helped to make this year’s one of the most successful yet.

We were blessed with the weather once again and the weekend saw another fantastic array of scarecrows on display.  We had the most ever entries with 39 of you embracing this year’s theme of the ‘Best of British’.  Winner Tina Leach’s Wallace & Gromit was a clear favourite from day one with Karen Apsford’s Paddington Bear a close second.

In total, just over £5,000 has been raised which will be split between SANDS, stillbirth and neonatal death charity and other local causes.  We’re absolutely delighted to have raised such a significant amount for some very worthy causes and are so grateful for everyone’s support.  A huge thank you goes also to our sponsors without whom the event would not be possible.  Thank you to The Yew Tree, Koru Gymn, Russell Property, Price Bailey Accountants, Weldon Beesley and Harlow Garden Services.

We are already looking forward to 2020 and welcome suggestions for possible themes at manudenscarecrowtrail@gmail.com

From Hanna and all at the Scarecrow Committee.
