The apex – the East of England’s newest venue

It’s taken years of planning and now finally the stage is set for Bury St Edmunds’ new state of the art venue.
The apex is due to open its doors in October and promises to change the face of music in the region.
The landmark building will become the new home for entertainment and business in the East of England, based right in the centre of Bury and attracting a wide programme of events from exhibitions and conferences to international artists and homegrown performers.

The Bury St Edmunds based rehabilitation charity, Focus12, held its 13th annual reunion on Sunday 15th August 2010 at the Corn Exchange, in Bury St Edmunds. The event was attended by over 350 clients, ex- clients and supporters of the charity, including Davina McCall, one of Focus12’s celebrity patrons, and Dr Daniel Poulter, MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich.

A new voice for Moreton Hall

Some good news for everyone who lives on Moreton Hall and cares about its future. After contacting local residents and discovering there was real interest in creating a resident’s association, a group of us put the basics in place and called a public meeting to see if we could get enough volunteers to form a committee. Although the height of the holiday season isn’t the best time for such a venture, time is pressing if we are to continue the fight against the planners and their damaging proposals for the estate.
