THIS Sunday 5th December there’s more festive fundraising taking place in Orford. Its all part of the bespoke Christmas Fair planned for inside the Jolly Sailor Inn. The landlord Gordon and his wife Judy have worked hard all year raising money for the Help for Heroes charity and this is their final fundraiser of 2010. ‘We’re raising funds for the final time this year by hosting a Christmas Charity Fair, donations will be greatly received and there’s a special Christmas Help for Heroes Raffle. Whilst at the Jolly you can take a look around the array of festive treats on offer from 11am from some fantastic, local, Suffolk suppliers.’ Each of the exhibitors have kindly supplied a generous prize for the Help for Heroes raffle which will be drawn on the day.

Local radio star to switch on town’s Christmas lights

A market town will sparkle with festive spirit when its Christmas lights are switched on this week. Popular BBC Radio Suffolk presenter Mark Murphy will join mayor Peter Goodchild for the big switch-on in Sudbury on Friday evening.
