Former award-winning presenter of TV’s Animal Hospital Shauna Lowry will open this year’s Suffolk Dog Day at midday on July 30 at Helmingham Hall.
The mum of two, who lives with her husband near the coast, was delighted to be asked and is in awe of how the annual event has grown in scale since the first year she helped in the new day out for the dogs to support the work of the Suffolk Foundation.
The cycles of anti-social behaviour

Three things usually rise during the summer months; the amount of sunshine, the temperature, and from a police perspective, the number of anti-social behaviour incidents reported to us. Unfortunately, this summer we add a fourth rise; the number of insecure cycles being stolen.

Hi there!
We will again be making an appearance in Stowmarket Carnival. After overwhelming requests from last year we will begin a trial of Baton Twirling classes at Stowmarket FC clubhouse, from Monday 15th August, 7pm-9pm, ages 6+ welcome. We will also be providing a display at the FA cup Match on Saturday 20th August to support STFC. A mention of our support for STFC and their support for us would be fantastic!!!
Please feel free to come and chat with us during the day’s festivities.
Many thanks,
Chamber aims to fight one hundred per cent increases in business rates
July 13, 2011 by flyeronline · Leave a Comment
Felixstowe Chamber of Trade and Commerce has recently learnt that some local businesses are experiencing between 25 – 100% increases in their business rates. In addition these increases are being backdated to December 2010.
Felixstowe Chamber would like to reassure it’s members that it will do all it can to help prevent or minimise these rises and have instigated the assistance of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, local councillors and the local MP. It would also urge local businesses to support campaigns like this by joining the Chamber and becoming a united front. Any business in Felixstowe who is concerned about the increases should appeal the decision as soon as they can. Andrew Rowdon Chairman says ‘please could I ask local businesses to get in contact with us to advise what impact these rises will have on their business. I would also urge any local business to join our growing chamber, with more numbers we are an even stronger voice. We believe these increases to be totally disproportionate and not a satisfactory action considering the current economic situation. Felixstowe has so much to offer and a fabulous revamped shopping area but these unrealistic increases could see some of our smaller businesses pushed either out of the town or out of business which makes a mockery of the award winning shared space scheme.
