Launch of the Sudbury Flyer

The exciting news for November is the launch of the Sudbury Flyer – a sister publication to the Bury St Edmunds Flyer. The new magazine represents a great opportunity to enhance business advertising
opportunities and will also cater for local organisations based in West Suffolk. Initially the Sudbury Flyer will be targeted towards the settlements of Lavenham, Long Melford and Clare.

Following a lively and well attended Annual General Meeting the Trustees met and the Chairman, Don Ayre was re-elected. He, however, has decided not to stand as Chairman after the end of this year, after 10 years in that position. The Vice Chairman, Jack Warburton, did not wish to continue and John Adams was elected in his place. All the Trustees and the two Wardens, Tom Chalklen and Bob Gosden, attended the meeting. The Trustees are Don Ayre, John Adams (new), Ray Aldous, Tony Castle, David Flett (new), Mike Jepson (new), Eric Smith, Jack Warburton and Ray Whymark. Terry Gooding continues as Clerk and Treasurer.

Bury St Edmunds Sixth Annual Christmas Fayre

An attractive combination of six markets, a fun fair and free entertainment all running for three days, makes the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre the biggest in East Anglia. Held from Friday 27 November to Sunday 29th November, the Fayre includes colourful stalls selling local produce and crafts, a ‘world’ market with enticing goods from mainland Europe and beyond, a Cathedral gift fair, and an historical market in Moyse’s Hall museum.

Suffolk artist’s Olympic vision

A Suffolk artist has been awarded £500,000 to produce work in the region ahead of the 2012 Olympics. Robert Pacitti will host a series of large outdoor events and create a feature film as part of the project titled On Landguard Point.
