Charity Poker Night at the Swan, Needham Market

A record 33 players attended the Christmas Special Charity Poker Night in the Needham Swan on 8 December.  These monthly tournaments organised by Anglia Supply Chain Recruitment have raised £1,200 for the winners’ charities in 2008.

Players at all levels of skill and from all occupations took part, from company directors to freight clerks, accountants, buyers and an architect.

The 12 Finalists

Winner, Adi Needham, said: “It’s fantastic to win and support UK Cancer Research, I’ve only ever played on the internet before tonight!”. Adi won a set of gold-plated playing cards, and everyone who reached the 12-player final table won prizes ranging from giant chip sets to a gaming compendium.

Publican Richard Farley, said: “This was the best tournament we’ve had so far, the atmosphere was great and I was delighted to be runner-up and donate my winnings to my favourite charity.”

Clive Thomas, Managing Director of Anglia Supply Chain Recruitment, said: “We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to join us at our regular Poker Nights, whether they are beginners or old hands, and help us hit our target of raising £2,000 in 2009.”
